It has so many definitions, As a verb discipline means, “Training someone to follow a rigorous set of instructions sometimes involves punishing and enforcing obedience.”

The meaning of medical discipline is, “imposed by the doctor to follow some strict rule by the doctor for the benefit of the patient.”

The term “Discipline” originates from the Latin word “Disciplus” and “disciplina”.  “Disciplus” means pupil and  “disciplina” means teacher.

Discipline is the action or inaction, that is regulated to be in accordance (or to achieve accord) with a particular system of governance.

It also means, “policing certain behaviors or ways of thinking. The deviated individuals can be brought back in line or excluded from the discipline.
